This lock will only work if the slave gate is locked into the closed position. If both gates swing to the closed position, what will hold the slave gate?. I have the solution

This is a solid, very heavy latch. But be prepared to do some modification to the gate or latch to make it fit. This latch is made to fit flat surfaces, but most metal gates are tubular. You will need to spend some time at several hardware stores getting what you need. I have a single swing gate and would have liked to have the electric part fastened to the post, and the striker part fastened to the gate. But there is no way to devise that, which means that the heavy electrical part of the latch has to be fastened to the gate itself putting a lot of weight on the gate and a wire wound through the gate. A simple design change would have made the latch convertable so that you can place the electrical part on the post and install the striker on the gate. That way the lighter weight piece is on the gate and the wire is not wound through the gate itself and not flexing each time the gate swings which will reduce the wear on the wire itself.
